JOB SUMMARY
It is the primary responsibility of the Assistant Shift Manager Slots to oversee the day-to-day operations of Slot Operations employees during their assigned shift with specialized attention to guest service, protection of company assets, and ensuring staff duties are performed. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Deliver a level of guest service which is consistent with the company’s and property’s core service standards.
- Effectively develop and mentor hourly employees to ensure all departmental standards and goals are understood and met.
- Supervise slot staff ensuring compliance with departmental and company policies including the issuance of corrective action.
- Maintain adequate scheduling of staff to meet and / or exceed departmental and company service requirements based on business levels.
- Provide instruction, training and implementation of service and other company programs to staff.
- Research and resolve guest and / or employee issues effectively and professionally.
- Manage, organize, and complete assigned projects with attention to detail within the established deadline.
- Delegate job duties and tasks to employee.
- Ensure inventory of all sensitive keys during shift are maintained and accounted for.
- Protect the confidentiality of company files and documents under immediate control.
- Manages human resource responsibilities to include training, issuing discipline and ensure the proper documentation of all actions taken for assigned staff members.
- Engage, entertain and inspire all who visit The Mirage by making a focused commitment to L.O.V.E.
- Maintain general property knowledge.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested.
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of Slots experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
- Previous experience working in a supervisory or similar role.
- Previous experience working with cash handling and player tracking systems.
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Nevada Gaming Registration.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
