We are looking for a Full Time Retail Assistant Manager.
The retail Assistant Manager support Manager of Retail to operate the retail store as a profitable business while providing excellent customer service and directing the retail team to success. You will be responsible for the supervision of employees, working with customers and help to carry out the directives of the manager and owner. Understanding guests needs and preferences and developing and guiding the retail team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise the Retail team in creating an outstanding experience for the resort and casino guests.
- Practice effective cost control procedures for all operating, maintenance, and supply costs.
- Support Manager to oversee retail team and their activities including schedule, time-off requests, commendations, and disciplinary actions.
- Support Manager on creating outstanding store condition and visual merchandise standards and ensure that retail floor is neatly organized and meet department standards.
- Oversee product receiving process and processes invoices for payment for the department purchases.
- Support Manager in selecting and maintaining inventory for the retail store including determining weekly and future inventory needs for seasonal rollovers to maximize profitability.
- Support manager on maintaining accurate records, establishes, and maintains a positive, professional working relationship with vendors while negotiating, consistent with delivery, quality, reliability, and service.
- Assist with researching new product lines, making recommendations, and purchasing an appropriate mix of merchandise.
- Participate and direct end of month inventory.
- Assist with proper merchandise execution to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction.
- Manages Team Members performance to meet service objectives and enforces company policy and procedures where needed.
- Responsible for selecting and training Team Members.
- Maintain relationships with local and national vendors and assist to tradeshows and conventions to be on top of new market trends and products.
- Handles any issues that arise from guests and staff (complaints, grievances, disputes, etc.)
- Represent the retail function across the department in the Retail Manager absent.
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 lbs., move cases of merchandise.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 3 years' experience in retail operations. Good communication skills, and the ability to perform in fast paced and goal-oriented environment. Background in hospitality/gaming operations is preferred including knowledge of casino guest rewards programs. Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to second hand smoke and high noise levels.
