Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Ramapo College of New Jersey invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neuroscience. Any area of Neuroscience will be considered, however those candidates with expertise in 1) Cognitive Neuroscience (e.g. Learning and Memory and Attentional Processing), 2) Affective Neuroscience or 3) Computational Neuroscience are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or psychologyor a related field. The appointment will begin September 1, 2024.
Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2023, and continue until the position is filled.
Examples of Duties
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • The position requires excellence in teaching and advising, professional and scholarly achievements, and a commitment to service to the institution and community.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to teach (6) courses per academic year across the Neuroscience and Psychology curriculum with an interest in teaching Introduction to Neuroscience, Research Methods, Statistics, Cognitive Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, Neuropsychopharmacology, Neuroscience Capstone and courses in the applicant's area of expertise.   • Preference will be given to candidates with the potential to develop an ongoing program of research into which undergraduate students can be integrated.

Education/Experience:
  • Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in neuroscience or psychology/related field by the appointment start date of September 1, 2024.
