The College of Human Development, Culture, and Media at Seton Hall University invites applications for two 9-month full time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in The Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts, to begin August 2023. We are seeking creative and innovative scholars with a specialty in Communication Technology or Communication Sciences who will teach across our undergraduate and graduate Communication programs.
The successful applicants will conduct communication information and technology-relevant research and teach and develop innovative curricula in one or more of the following undergraduate and graduate areas: communication technology and education; emerging media; technology and society; health communication; K-12 digital literacy; data analysis; rhetoric of technology and science; human-computer interaction (HCI); social media and mobile communication; STEAM communication; organizational and business communication.
This position entails an 18-credit teaching requirement during the academic year, commensurate with Department needs, and is expected to begin in August 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to:
*Conduct and develop ongoing scholarship commensurate with an R2 institution.
*Engage in visionary program building, including a keen focus on diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility.
*Teach regularly across the department's curriculum in existing classes such as: Organizational Communication; Public and Presentational Communication; Health Communication; Senior Seminar; Emerging Media Production; Digital Media; Communication Research Methods; and Master's Thesis.
*Develop curriculum and design new courses across the undergraduate and graduate programs in areas such as: Digital Media Literacy; Digital Storytelling; Data Visualization and Communication; and other topics related to STEAM communication.
*Participate actively in academic advisement, high-impact student learning activities, student mentoring, and other co- and extracurricular student engagement activities.
*Commit to collaboration in growing a new, interdisciplinary College.
*Be an active member in the Department, College, and University community.

Launching in Summer 2023, Seton Hall's emergingCollege of Human Development, Culture, and Media(CHDCM) will be the singular place for purpose-built interdisciplinary learning focused on innovation along the continuum of human development.
Integrating the exceptional faculty ofCommunication and the ArtsandEducation and Human Services, along with dynamic cross-disciplinary curricula, the new College will seek to improve the human condition by collaborating across distinct fields that uniquely complement one another and prepare students as dynamic leaders poised to address complex issues. Required Qualifications:

*Ph.D. in Communication Studies or a related field (degree completion is required by August 2023) with a specialty in Communication Technology and/or Communication Information Systems/Sciences.
*One or more year(s) of experience in instructional environments.
*Evidence that the candidate will be able to develop a successful publication record appropriate for an R2 institution.
