This position is covered by IFO Collective Bargaining Agreement. The full salary range for positions under this agreement can be found in Article 11, Section S.
Salary Minimum $62,260 Salary Maximum $94,705+ DOE Salary Type Annual Bargaining Unit/Plan 209, IFO Job Description
  • Teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester
  • Primary responsibility for teaching introductory global survey courses, upper-level Art History courses, and the capstone seminar (Contemporary Art, Design, and Theory)
  • Additional teaching responsibilities assigned based on professional background and expertise
  • Foster the development of department curriculum, Art History Major, Minor and Certificates within the context of the School of Art
  • Active participation in scholarly/creative activities and professional organizations
  • Other responsibilities include mentoring students and student projects, portfolio reviews, student academic advising, and service to the department, university, and community
  • Maintaining standards and assessments for Art History classes designated as Liberal Arts & Sciences Curriculum (LASC/Generals) courses and Writing Intensive designated courses
  • Support Minnesota State University Moorhead's strategic priority of creating a campus community that is diverse, inclusive, globally aware, and just
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Art History
  • Demonstrated commitment to effective teaching excellence
  • Demonstrated record and commitment to scholarly activities

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of teaching experience beyond T.A.
  • Ability to teach and/or interest in developing courses that align with candidate expertise and departmental objectives
  • Knowledge of contemporary artistic studio production methods and media
  • Demonstrated commitment to diverse, equitable, and inclusive pedagogy, and an ability to work successfully with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds, including sensitivity to their needs and concerns
  • Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as a team
  • Leadership experience
