Assistant Professor of Management - Continuing Track (Non-Tenure)

Department of Business Administration

Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics

University of Delaware

The Department of Business Administration in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Management (Continuing Track) starting September 1, 2024. Candidates must have or anticipate completing a Ph.D. within the broad domain of Management before the position's starting date. Preference is given to individuals with a record of successful teaching and research experience in strategic management.

The Continuing Track (CT) is the University of Delaware's full-time, continuing faculty line. CT faculty enjoy contracts that increase in length over time and, like tenure-track faculty, receive full and generous benefits, including family-friendly benefits, as part of their compensation package. CT faculty with terminal degrees hold professorial rank and have a path to promotion up to full professor. All CT faculty earn sabbaticals, have opportunities to pursue research, participate in shared governance, and hold academic leadership positions.

Teaching responsibilities are primarily our undergraduate strategic management course with the potential for future opportunities in strategic leadership, organizational change, organizational ethics, project management, and/or professional consulting at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This Continuing Track position is mainly instructional, with a typical teaching load of six courses per year.

Research responsibilities include maintaining a publication record that meets AACSB accreditation standards for Scholarly Academic status by publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Service responsibilities involve engaging in activities to support the Department, College, and University.

Founded in 1743, the University of Delaware combines tradition and innovation, offering students a rich heritage along with the latest advances in instructional methods and research-based knowledge. The main campus in Newark, Delaware provides the amenities of a vibrant college town with convenient access to major cities along the East Coast.

The Department of Business Administration is located in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics. The College has five departments, 42 academic programs, over 4,200 students, and more than 160 faculty. See the Faculty Directory for profiles of our department members.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, pedagogy statement, sample syllabus, recent teaching evaluations, and one recent manuscript or publication. Additional information may be requested after an initial review of applications.

The review of applications begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled. If you have inquiries about the position, please contact Dr. Nathan Bragaw, Search Committee Chair: nbragaw@udel.edu. Any expressions of interest will be held in confidence and personal references will not be contacted without the candidate's permission.

The University of Delaware is an Equal Opportunity Employer that encourages applications from minority group members and women. See the University's Notice of Non-Discrimination. Employment offers will be conditioned upon successful completion of a criminal background check. A conviction will not necessarily exclude you from employment.
