Master’s Degree in English, Composition, Communications, or closely related field;
Evidence of and/or potential for successful, high-quality teaching;

Evidence of valuing equity and strong support of cultural and linguistic diversity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
SUNY Morrisville is seeking a tenure-track faculty member for our School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Society (LASS) to support our department of Composition and Rhetoric. Areas of preferred emphasis include composition studies, strategies and methods for teaching writing, critical pedagogy, rhetorical theory, or oral communication. The successful applicant will contribute to our first year and general education program and will teach their course load primarily in related foundational courses, including basic writing, first-year Composition and communication, and other relevant humanities courses for the SUNY Division of General Education .
The successful candidate for this position will be a dynamic and innovative professor, who excels in fostering communication skills and inspires students to cultivate their writing abilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate passion for empowering learners to express themselves with clarity, creativity, and confidence, preparing them for success in today’s world.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Additional responsibilities include student support and office hours, academic advisement, participating in monthly division and school meetings, college/university service, curriculum development, student recruitment, and continuing professional development.
Teaching assignments may be in a distance learning environment, including online classes, and may include nights, weekends, and offsite locations.
