Duties are typically indoors and occasionally outdoors, which may include unpredictable weather conditions. This position may involve sitting, walking, and standing throughout the day to include moving room to room and maneuvering in crowded hallways. Travel may be required within the district or outside of district for activities with students, and professional activities or meetings.

The noise level is normally low to moderate but may become loud when large groups are together. This position requires accurate perception of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, and ability to provide written and oral information.The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 20% walking, and 40% standing.Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a person with a disability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Position PurposeAssists with the supervision, instructional leadership, and evaluation of employees along with the Assistant Principal/SpEd Coordinator and Principal. Assists with the administration of the school and events. Shares the responsibilities of student, parent, and community concerns.

Responsibilities include assuming a key role in interviewing and training certified teachers and classified employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned): Assists the principal in the general administration of the school. Assumes a key role in instructional leadership, professional development, supervision of the school staff, providing assistance and sharing the evaluations.Assists in the administration of the school and its instructional programs in all its facets.Assumes a key role in the guardianship of all students, keeping them current and on file.Assumes a key role with the supervision of conduct within the school, including disciplinary procedures, and keeping records of any disciplinary action.

Assumes a key role in interpreting and implementing Board policies and administrative policies in his/her area of responsibility. Assumes a key role in facilitating communication between personnel, students, and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, and/or resolving conflict. Assumes a key role in preparing and presenting information (e.g.

budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, purchase orders, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback, and ensuring adherence to established internal controls. Assumes a key role in HR responsibilities; recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and assisting of school personnel.Assumes a key role for the attendance, conduct, health, and safety of the students.Assumes a key role in the interpretation of the schools programs to the community and enlists the participation of the community.Assumes a key role in the on-going improvement of the school curriculum. Assumes a key role in the recommendation of dismissal and termination of an employee whose work is unsatisfactory.Assumes a key role in PLC/department meetings.Assumes a key role in staff meetings as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.Assumes a key role in school safety - Standard Response Protocols (SRP), training drills, etc.Assumes a key role in maintaining high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline.

Performs such other tasks and assures such other responsibilities as the principal may assign (Organizing graduation, leading out on Title IX incidents, Freshman transition program, school wide character ed program, etc.)Attends and participates in admin. Meetings and Board Meetings.Preference will be given to: Those with at least five years of successful educational experienceThose with at least three years of successful leadership experienceCertification Requirement: Possession of or able to obtain a valid credential from the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board authorizing service as a secondary school principal.In accordance with policy GBEC and procedure GBEC-R all new employees must submit to a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Employee must consent to and provide the necessary documentation (fingerprinting, etc.) to allow for a criminal background check.
