Position Purpose
Supervises employees in the Middle School when the Principal is absent from the building. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Functions(Other duties may be assigned)

• Supervises staff attendance and assignment of substitute teachers.
• Assists in scheduling special events during the school day.
• Provides general supervision to students.
• Supervises extra curricular activities.
• Maintains relationship with parents and community
• Assists with the supervision of conduct within the school, including disciplinary procedures, and keeping records of any disciplinary action.
• Assists the principal in the general administration of the school, and serves as principal when the principal is absent.
• Shares the responsibility for preparing the teacher/student handbooks.
• Assists in the administration of the school and its instructional program in all its facets.
• Interprets and implements Board policies and administrative policies in his/her area of responsibility.
• Assists in the supervision of the school staff, providing assistance and sharing the evaluations.
• Assists in the recruiting, screening, training, hiring and assisting of school personnel.
• Assists in the coordination of the full range of extra-curricular activities.
• Shares responsibility for the attendance, conduct, health and safety of the students.
• Assists in the interpretation of the schools program to the community and enlists the participation of the community.
• Assists in the on-going improvement of the school curriculum, as assigned.
• Assists in the recommendation of dismissal and termination of an employee whose work is unsatisfactory.
• Assists with staff meetings as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.
• Coordinates state mandated safety drills as necessary.
• Assists in the maintaining of high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline.
• Performs such other tasks and assures such other responsibilities as the principal may assign from time to time.

Education

• Masters from an accredited college or university in educational leadership/administration.

Certification Requirements: Must be eligible for Wyoming administration endorsement.
