The candidate is expected to pursue scholarly research activity related to their field of specialization and the acquisition of extramural research funding is encouraged. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to contribute academic service to the Department, School, and University.

Basic qualifications: Applicants must have: 1) an earned doctorate (or those ABD at the time of application must be awarded their degree prior to the start of the position and no later than September 1, 2024) in EXERCISE SCIENCE or kinesiology or related field; 2) undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience in kinesiology, biomechanics, anatomy & physiology, exercise physiology, and/or sport & injury rehabilitation, 3) demonstrated excellence in teaching as demonstrated by course evaluations, 4) a demonstrated well-rounded background in Kinesiology and Physiology allowing for versatility in meeting the needs of the BS in Exercise Science program in addition to the MS, MPH, and PhD programs in Exercise & Nutrition Sciences, and 5) at least one year of experience involving applied work or conducting research related to EXERCISE SCIENCE, kinesiology, biomechanics, or related field during or following the completion of their doctorate;  6) Relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals; and, 7) evidence of (or potential for) obtaining independent, external research funding in areas of scholarly interest.

To apply, please complete an online application at  https://www.gwu.jobs/postings/109522 and submit the following: 1) curriculum vitae; 2) statement of teaching and mentoring experience; 3) statement of scholarly interest, and 4) statement of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Review of applications will begin April 15, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled. Only complete applications will be considered.
