Title: Assistant Manager, Insurance Collections
Summary:
The Assistant Manager of Insurance Collections plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operations and training of a dynamic team of approximately 45 employees. With a focus on surpassing corporate objectives and maintaining exceptional quality standards, this role is essential in ensuring efficient revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the team to meet or exceed monthly revenue targets consistently.
- Conduct audits of accounts to uphold quality standards and provide ongoing training to team members.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure staff proficiency in the legal representation process.
- Continuously evaluate and refine processes to optimize revenue generation.
- Lead recruitment efforts and oversee comprehensive training, cross-training, and professional development initiatives.
- Facilitate departmental meetings to foster collaboration and align team objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the operations manager to nurture positive client relationships and provide valuable feedback during conference calls.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three years’ experience in hospital Insurance Collections or a related field.
- Proficient understanding of the healthcare Accounts Receivable Cycle.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a sizable team, preferably within a hospital business office, multi-physician practice, CBO, or collection agency insurance department. Experience in medical Insurance Collections is advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA, FDCPA, and FCRA laws, with successful completion of related exams.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday during standard working hours.
- Familiarity with various insurance types, including Medicare/Medicaid, Commercial, Auto, Work Comp, Liability, and State and Federal Insurance Programs.
- Functional expertise in multi-patient accounting systems such as Epic, MediTech, McKesson Star, AS400, etc.
- Ability to process healthcare claims using UB04 and HCFA1500 forms, both manually and electronically.
- Proficiency in interpreting EOBs, denials, and medical records data, with a solid understanding of ICD9, ICD10, DX, HCPCS, CPT codes, and DRGs.
