Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work in the Employment Development Department's (EDD) Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs Office (LIAO)? Legislative interactions have statewide impact spanning a broad range of economic and social groups including workers, benefit claimants, job seekers, employers, training agencies, labor organizations, local partners and local and federal government entities.
Under the direction of the Office Manager (SSM III), in the LIAO, the incumbent operates independently to analyze and provide a variety of complex and critical legislative information to the Office Manager and the Deputy Director of the Legislative Affairs Branch, including summaries of relevant news articles and status updates on pending legislation. The incumbent also coordinates all legislative mandated reports for the EDD and provides analytical support to the Office Managers and Legislative Specialists by researching and compiling data and statistics related to EDD's programs and labor market data in response to various legislative inquiries.
This position is headquartered in Sacramento County and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

  • Background Investigation Requirement
    The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.
    The department will make an individualized assessment of whether the conviction history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job and the work performed by the department.
