Job Description:
Serve as point of contact for all building and facility needs; coordinate with budget manager for BSSF and departmental equipment repair; monitor and schedule equipment and building maintenance; assist with compliance to governmental regulations, both existing and pending; provide support for distribution and control of supplies, equipment and services; assist with introductory teaching labs including training and oversight of graduate teaching assistants in collaboration with the BSSF Lab Manager and faculty; assist with safety coordination for the entire department; oversee department stockroom and vehicle fleet.
Minimum Qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of modern principles, methods, and biological instrumentation essential for research and teaching. Basic understanding of current accreditation requirements and licensures to ensure compliance. Considerable knowledge of biology and laboratory safety. Ability to work as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to establish, manage, and evaluate the operation of complex teaching and research laboratories in a modern university. Demonstrated ability to develop, evaluate, and administer laboratory objectives, policies, and procedures, and analyze and resolve technical and administrative problems. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and customers through courteous and professional interactions. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, exercise judgment, make decisions, and work independently.
