ACTUAL JOB TITLE: ASSOCIATE TECHNICIAN
7am to 3:30pm M-F
Instructions to Suppliers:
• The following questions should be asked to the candidate as part of their interview with you before submitting them to the role.
• In terms of responses expected in the interviews, we are looking for someone who can communicate in English. They must be able to work the shift hours that the position is posted for with the ability to work overtime as needed. We want someone who is interested and motivated by our mission "Improving lives by improving sight". This is a fast paced working environment and the person will be expected to learn quickly and produce quality results.

This role supports the Essilor's Mission Improving Lives by Improving Sight by performing routine work in assigned area that usually repetitive, requiring limited analysis and use of individual judgement. This position is closely supervised.
Pre-finishing: Duties include Receiving, Frame and lens manager and material handling
Finishing: Specific duties include beveling, mounting the lenses, edging, blocking lenses, tinting and inspecting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
§ Pre-Finishing:
o Receiving: Receiving lenses and frames into the system and tracing the frame shape into our system.
o Material handler: Sorting work to go into the cells, picking up non-conforming and completed work from the cells and delivering the picked-up work to the correct location.
o Frame and lens manager: Sorting work by here and not here and matching frames and lenses that are here together to go into the cells.
§ Finishing:
o Beveler: Utilize the bevel wheel to remove the sharp edges of the lens.
o Mounter: Accurately apply drill holes to the lenses to ensure proper fit and alignment of the lenses and insert lenses into the frame while ensuring proper fit.
o Edger Operator: Operate a variety of edging machines to cut lenses down to proper size and shape to fit the appropriate frame.
o Finish Layout: prepare an uncut lens for the edging process by outlining the center/alignment markings and affixing the chuck/block.
o Tinter: Accurately tint all lenses going through the tinting department.
o Inspection: Inspect lenses and frames to ensure that they are optically and cosmetically accurate.
