Assistant Grounds Superintendent

This position will start in April/May 2024.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and participating in the maintenance of various areas of the golf course. This includes supervising the maintenance, repair, and operation of motorized and mechanical equipment as well as the upkeep of irrigation and drainage systems. You will also contribute to personnel management and evaluation, ensuring staff safety and discipline. Effective staff and public relations are paramount, and you will be responsible for maintaining positive relationships in these areas.

REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge about the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, and greens
• Familiarity with seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf, plant care, the proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners, pest control methods and materials, drainage control methods, and irrigation systems
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office
• Possession of or ability to obtain a Texas Pesticide license within 90 days of employment

Knowledge about overseeding practices and techniques would be a plus!
