Cypress Landing Golf Course, located in Chocowinity, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for an entry-level Assistant Golf Professional. Cypress Landing Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 Golf Course designed by Bill Love with Ault, Clark & Associates that is a certified Audubon sanctuary. Over the years, it has maintained a 4 Star Rating from Golf Digest and garnered recognition from the USGA and the Carolina Golf Association. A beautifully maintained course, a friendly atmosphere, and year-round competitive and social activities make it a favorite in the area.
Responsibilities of Assistant Golf Professional at Cypress Landing Golf Course include:
- Holds all golf department associates accountable for reaching their monthly and annual financial goals.
- Has the ability to complete an accurate inventory count each month and has a firm understanding of cost of goods sold.
- Operates the golf department within the budgeted payroll and adjusts it as sales increase or decrease.
- Assists with a monthly golf staff meeting that covers training, customer service, progress since the prior month, and basic financials that pertains to the entire golf department.
- Assists the Head Golf Professional in planning, promoting, and directing all golf activities.
- Develops merchandise sales and promotions during holidays, specials events, and times when sales are slow.
- Provides golf lessons to all members and guests, overseeing the instruction program at the club.
- Develops and conducts junior golf clinics.
- Orders supplies for the golf shop as directed by the Head Golf Professional.
- Plays golf with members to ensure enthusiasm for the game.
- Understands how to use the point of sales system.
- Assists the Head Golf Professional with all tournament operations.
- Maintains all logs (comp, rain check, monthly range, etc.).
- Ensures all I-9 paperwork, e-verify, and onboarding is completed within three days of an associate's hire date.
- Follows all State, Federal, and Bobby Jones Links' rules in regard to human resources including such key policies as hiring and firing, discrimination, and harassment.
Required Skills
The Assistant Golf Professional of a Bobby Jones Links club must have the following skills:
- Willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and club point of sales systems.
- Golf Genius experience a plus.

- Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
