As the Assistant General Manager of Operations at Road Trip you will play a pivotal role in optimizing dispensary operations, focusing on inventory management, compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence. Partnering with the Dispensary General Manager, you will ensure alignment of team goals, accountability, and day-to-day operations, while maintaining compliance with state recreational cannabis regulations. Your focus will be on driving operational efficiency, maintaining positive employee engagement, and overseeing inventory practices to meet revenue objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Excellence
- Effectively manage cash controls and financial reporting. Ensure POS, cashouts, bank logs, inventory, and deposits are accurate and executed according to Road Trip standards.
- Partner with the GM to ensure accurate inventory records are maintained in compliance with the CCC.
- Establish and maintain relationships with cannabis product suppliers for consistent access to high-quality products.
- Support the GM with the buying lifecycle, generate insightful reports, and conduct audits to ensure best practices in the cannabis industry.
- Monitor inventory levels, review vendor compliance, and implement purchasing strategies aligned with financial goals.
- Oversee intake of medicated and non-medicated items and develop improvements to operational procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings to ensure training on CCC regulations, Road Trip policy, and inventory controls.
- Update and maintain retail inventory SOPs in line with policy and regulation changes.
- Perform weekly audits of all inventory using Road Trip SOPs and maintain organized audit records.
- Partner with the Dispensary Manager (GM) to ensure the goals, targets, and accountability of the team are aligned.
- Collaborate with the AGM of People to supervise the team, ensuring they accomplish their daily objectives. Provide ongoing feedback, conduct regular check-ins, and establish attainable goals that align with Road Trip's mission and values
- Maintains dispensary operations by adhering to Road Trip’s Policies & Procedures for the dispensary and fully comply with state recreational cannabis regulations.
- Is an active presence on the sales floor to maintain an understanding of areas of success, opportunity and ensure the drive for sales is always present.
- Continually monitor and analyze dispensary KPIs as how those KPIs impact training and behaviors on the sales floor.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Partner with the GM on overseeing a team of leads and utilize delegation techniques to ensure efficient daily operations of the dispensary and all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Drive a culture of positive employee engagement with a strong focus on inclusion & diversity.
- Identify and address employee issues on a timely basis. Document appropriately, and communicate the situation to your supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 21 years of age or older as required by the Massachusetts Cannabis Commission.
- Able to pass all background checks as mandated by the Massachusetts Cannabis Commission.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Fluent in MS Office application suite, with emphasis on Word and Excel. Must be willing to learn accounting, tracking, and inventory control applications.
- Minimum 1-year retail sales management experience of 10+ individuals
- Experience working with Mass. Seed to Sale System from METRC
- Experience working with Dutchie POS
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry
- Able to accommodate scheduling that may include varied shifts, weekends, and some holidays.
- Able to escort and assist customers with disabilities in navigating the dispensary, registers, entrances, and exits.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information about product availability/offerings.
- Frequently operates computer/POS systems and other standard office equipment such as printers, phones and photocopy machines.
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position when accessing inventory or when operating the computer.
- The person in this position must be able to observe and assess delivery operations via cameras and monitor delivery activity.
- Frequently communicates with other staff via Walkie Talkie or Headset.
- Constantly positions self throughout the day when conducting inventory counts, receiving deliveries or examining merchandise by maintaining the computer and completing reports.
- Constantly moves and transports dispensary products/totes up to 30 lbs. throughout the dispensary.
