Assistant Executive Housekeeper

Job Summary

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the housekeeping department, including the training and supervision of staff, ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas, and ensuring the guest experience meets or exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement housekeeping procedures and standards that promote a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including hiring and training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Manage, organize, and maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment, and ensure that supplies are ordered and received in a timely manner.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas regularly to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards are met.
• Respond to and resolve guest complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Work collaboratively with other departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets, and monitor expenses to ensure that they remain within budgetary guidelines.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders, including guests, staff, management, and vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field is preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a housekeeping management role within a luxury resort hotel setting.
• Knowledge of housekeeping and cleaning procedures, as well as health and safety regulations
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and engage staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• A keen eye for detail and a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
• Proficiency in the use of housekeeping equipment and supplies
• Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with guest complaints and issues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and housekeeping software
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset
