Assistant Event Coordinator Position
Job Overview
Altitude Hospitality Group is the leading brand in the local area for weddings and events. The Assistant Event Coordinator is essential to the execution of memorable events. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Responsible for guest interactions and day of event coordination/execution. Responsibilities include serving food and beverage with friendly, individualized attention focusing on the company core values. Set up and breakdown of events. Directly assists GM on administrative work and facility tours.
Experience
1 year experience in similar role is preferred.
Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business demands.
A working knowledge of the practices and procedures of safe food handling.
Excellent customer service skills.
Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.
Ability to work in a team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain the highest quality and consistent customer service.
Meets and greets clients and guests. Maintains professionalism and is friendly and approachable towards guests and staff.
Oversees all functions per BEO and Event Coordinator specifics. Reports directly to the Event Coordinator/GM. Must be familiar with all current and upcoming event details. Works with Event Manager to ensure event execution meets and exceeds standards.
Must be familiar with all menu items noting allergies and dietary restrictions.
In charge of filtering phone calls, answering questions and gathering more information as needed. Conducts tours and takes detailed inquiries which are immediately submitted to Event Coordinator/GM.
Works with GM to create proposals. Understands basic pricing structure and packages. Is fluent in event planning software and billing procedures.
Works with Event Coordinator/GM on staff scheduling.
In charge of linen inventory and reporting directly to Event Coordinator/GM in regards to discrepancies.
Assists with liquor inventory and liquor orders as needed.
Ensures all functions are set and staff is prepared and organized before required time on BEO. Tardiness for events and meetings will not be tolerated. Must be meticulous and detailed.
Responsible for making the function space visually appealing and presenting the menu offering for the event. Assists with set-up of tables, linens, chairs, etc. and coordinates staff to set up according to plan.
Reports safety hazards to manager on duty. Reports all employee accidents to manager on duty.
Have knowledge of food safety policies and procedures. Have in depth knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
Maintain sense of urgency when on service floor.
Maintain service areas and side works duties for overall productivity of banquet events. Responsible for overall sanitation and cleanliness of the work areas, banquet rooms, and storage areas.
Responsible for the proper usage and good working order of all equipment, furniture and fixtures in Banquet areas. Reports necessary repairs to general manager and may help coordinate repairs as necessary.
Responsible for consistently implementing the service standards and operating procedures in banquet service.
Provide unique and creative ideas to enhance meetings & group experience. Follows protocol and chain of command in submitting and suggesting ideas.
Helps to resolve staff and customer concerns quickly and efficiently.
Complete all other duties as assigned.

Education: 1 year related experience preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use their hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. For catering, must be able to operate catering vehicle and obey all traffic laws and safety practices.
Hours and Availability
Hours vary depending on business demand. All scheduling approved by GM.
Attire - Business Attire During Events | Business Casual During Office Work and Tours. No jeans, no hats, no low cut blouses, no visible bra straps. Must have closed toe shoes due to walking in and out of kitchen.
This position pays $23.00 per hour.
