Summary
This role designs, delivers and evaluates programs related to teaching, learning, and assessment. A key focus of this position is the support of faculty across the university in implementing high-quality learning experiences that reflect the integration of foundational evidence-based pedagogies, innovative student engagement practices, motivation and development theories, and principles of equity and inclusion. This position will work closely with Pew FTLC colleagues and other campus partners on strategic initiatives related to Teaching and Learning.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Design, implement and evaluate professional development opportunities for faculty, including individual and group consultations, workshops, faculty learning communities, and other learning opportunities for faculty at different stages in their career and with varied teaching experiences.
- Provide expertise in evidence-based Teaching and Learning strategies, active learning, inclusive pedagogies, learning theories, curriculum design, assessment of student learning, and the scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
- Work collaboratively with Pew FTLC staff and faculty to further institutional priorities, including student success, DEI-AB (diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging) initiatives, and the Academic Affairs strategic plan
- Curate, develop and update resources, publications, and other materials that guide and enhance evidence-based teaching
- Broaden the reach and increase the frequency of the Center's confidential teaching feedback options, including classroom observations and Mid-semester Interviews About Teaching.
- Remain current with and apply emerging scholarship and innovations in educational development and evidence-based Teaching and Learning practices.
- As part of our deeply collaborative approach, serve on appropriate committees, working groups, etc. related to curriculum development and assessment of student learning and be a liaison with departments, services, and other units at the University (e.g., eLearning, University Libraries, and faculty governance.)
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Pew FTLC planning and budgeting processes.
- May oversee student colleague work on a project basis
- Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution
- Knowledge of theory and practice of evidence-based teaching, learning and assessment in both undergraduate and graduate programs
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver interactive educational development programs on a variety of pedagogical topics and in multiple formats
- Commitment to and familiarity with equitable and inclusive pedagogy
- Intercultural understanding and awareness required to contribute to a healthy, inclusive working and Learning environment
- Project development and management skills, including experience with related digital tools
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve outcomes in the workplace
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact collaboratively and professionally with diverse groups and constituencies throughout the university
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
- Doctoral or terminal degree from an accredited institution
- Higher education teaching experience
- Educational development leadership experience

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience
