Position Information
- Bachelor’s degree in guidance and counseling or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in academic counseling or advising and one (1) year of event management experience.
- Knowledge of counseling techniques.
- Demonstrated skill in program development, working with students to develop their leadership and mentorship skills, achieve education goals, retention, and student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and colleagues across campus to manage a program.
- Strong technical and database skills with a willingness to engage in training and implementation of new technologies.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Work hours are generally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, evening and weekend hours are required periodically.

initiatives and experiential learning opportunities that build student leadership skills and enhance the educational experience for SBA students. This includes special emphasis on the Business Honors Program (BHP), the Scholars Program, the Student Ambassador Program, and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Responsibilities related to the BHP include development of recruitment materials, recruitment of students, conduct information sessions, advise prospective students, manage welcome receptions, coordinate orientation of new honors students and serve as the academic adviser. Collaborate with faculty and staff for the BHP freshman and senior experience courses and coordinate mentorship, community engagement, and site visits. In addition, collaborate with program directors for the regular management of the recruitment, orientation, training ,mentorship, and community engagement for the Scholars case competitions, Student Ambassador Program, and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Track student involvement in experiential learning for data reporting and strategic planning purposes. Manage and coordinate New Student Orientation and the Senior Recognition Dinner.
