The Assistant Director, Residential Housing Operations (Residential Services) ensures staff readiness to meet the residential and academic needs of students. Manages front desk employees and building details to deliver safe, clean, healthy, and well-maintained residential academic environments. Responsible for supporting University Residences to manage move-in, move-out, and daily operations of large residence halls through academic year, summer school, and summer conference operations and representing the operations team in assigned neighborhood. Work to achieve day-to-day department objectives with major impact on area of responsibility. Manage department brand and customer expectations in support of the academic mission of Purdue University, Student Life, and University Residences. Direct and coordinate all aspects of conference activities within assigned area. Lead and manage direct reports, delegating tasks and operational authority to maximize quantity of work across department and assigned neighborhood, including a large group of student employees.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Four years of experience in leadership, supervision, project management, facilities, or related field.
- In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience (High School Diploma + 8 years of experience).
- Broad knowledge of front desk operations.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, manage, and develop professional staff.
- Demonstrated skills in project management and fiscal analysis.
- Ability to offer leadership, vision, and strategic planning that will contribute to comprehensive University facilities and residences programs.
- Ability to establish long and short-term goals consistent with the mission of the university and the division.
- Ability to build, develop, and cultivate relationships across campus and externally with a variety of constituents.
- Self-motivated, have attention to detail, and adept at solving problems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituents.
- Strong communication (written/oral) as well as interpersonal skills.
- Proficient at computer software word processing, spreadsheet, electronic communication, etc.
- Demonstrated skills in reviewing and managing vendor contracts.
Preferred:
- Over six years of experience.
