The Assistant Director, Programs is the lead staff person responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and events that facilitate enhanced leadership, communication, and community involvement, cross cultural friendships, and adjustment to the US culture and UCLA campus life. Serve as resource for international students, international scholars, and the multicultural campus community, networking closely with campus services and programs. Provide training and supervision to professional staff, student staff, graduate intern, student leaders, and volunteers. Oversee and manage several large-scale programs while working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficiency of the work and inclusiveness of programs and events. Oversee Programs Coordinators on office logistics including but not limited to transportation, room reservations, A/V equipment, and student staff schedules. Serve as back-up preparer for Bruin-Buy, Express, and Purchasing Card for the Programming unit.

1. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse group of students, faculty, administrators and community groups both individually and in group settings.

2. Superior writing skills necessary to prepare creative materials for public presentations, formal administrative reports, marketing materials, newsletters and other communications representing the department, often under severe time constraints.
