Assistant Director of Nursing $6,000 Sign-On Bonus
Jerome Home is a 120 bed Long Term Care Facility in New Britain, CT. Established under the will executed by Augustus Jerome. Jerome Home is a privately-owned, not-for-profit organization. We are a progressive, nursing community with a highly competent and caring staff. Established in 1932, our multi levels include, RCH and SNF including short-term rehab and hospice. Also on our campus is Arbor Rose, a 62 apartment Assisted Living Facility.
We currently have an opening for Assistant Director of Nursing. This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing. This is 40 hour, benefit eligible position for a qualified Registered Nurse. We have several on-line programs currently being used by our staff:
- Matrix is used as our EMR.
- Shifthound is our on-line scheduling program. At the click of a button, you can request time off or request to pick up a shift. You can also send email/text notification to request coverage of an open shift.
- Relias is our on-line education program. Classes are assigned via email for you to complete in the allotted time at your own pace.
- Paylocity is our online payroll system. We are all direct deposit and you are able to view your check right online. In addition, we communicate to staff through this system.
We have a healthy resident to CNA ratio: On days, it’s 6 to 1, evenings 6-8 to 1 and nights 15-1 with a float to be utilized on neighborhoods when needed. In addition, there is a Nursing Secretary to assist the ADON with staff and scheduling needs.
The Assistant Director of Nurses will:
- Be second in command of the nursing department.
- Be responsible for overseeing a department of 85+ CNA’s over 3 shifts. This includes onboarding, scheduling, corrective action and departmental budgeting.
- Work closely with the DON to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by your team.
- Will, in her/his absence, oversee the entire team ensuring quality customer service and compliance with all federal, state and local rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures set by Jerome Home.
- Monitoring the work of the nursing staff and rounding daily.
- Be a part of the executive leadership team and will also work closely with other managers such as the Medical Director and Executive Director.
- Be included in the weekend on-call rotation.
The successful ADON candidate will possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state, have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action; be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
In addition, the successful candidate will have knowledge of Nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care; have leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel; be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care; have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents; and be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
