From backyard gatherings to large corporate banquets, Table Manners has the know-how to turn any special day into a memorable celebration, served with a slice of Texas hospitality. Our service & events are noteworthy for their exceptional hospitality, eye for style, seamless coordination, unique barware, and an ever evolving inventory to choose from. We are a small, tightly knit team that enjoys good food & drink, and values how it’s served (and we value good people too). We are seeking a candidate with long-term potential who will feel comfortable growing with us.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, charismatic and decisive Sales Associate to join our expanding company. This person will live at the center of it all - they will have autonomy and endless growth potential. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will be focused on driving business forward by being a tenacious builder. The Sales Associate will be expected to provide exceptional customer service and lead initiatives to expand our customer base.

Compensation

  • Base salary of $55k + Commission ($65k-$75k/year)

Location

  • 7216 E Hwy 290, Austin, Tx, 78723 for daily operations. Some travel to Austin venues (Downtown, Dripping Springs, Fredericksburg, Round Top, etc.) required. Reliable transportation is a must.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Full-time, 40 hours per week, exempt position. *Some flexibility outside working hours for open houses, networking events, and during the busy season is required*

Day-to-Day Ownership

The Sales Associate’s day-to-day will reflect current events and ongoing priorities, but can generally be designated within and held accountable to the following:

  • Sales Responsibilities: field inquiries from new and existing clients; execute the sales process, including building rapport, overcoming objections, and closing sales; work towards achieving and exceeding individual and team sales targets; Upsell and cross-sell additional products or accessories to maximize sales opportunities; prospecting and identifying new clientele; proactive and consistent outreach; send thank you notes, request online reviews and feedback; grow relationships; field and adapt to unique requests, ability to problem solve within the moment.
  • Sales Transactions:train and execute all sales on our sales software; comfortable with numbers; communicate promptly and develop well-written proposals or quotes for each client that maintain our standards; include details on the event, logistics and use of the rented inventory.
  • Customer Engagement: communicate promptly to all client inquiries at all stages of the customer experience; ability to go above and beyond; facilitate meetings and open houses with clients - current and future; assist clients with party and event planning; follow up with existing clients to foster future business; assist finalizing all event details prior to the event execution; be a core part of the Table Manners team and events community, well known and loved by our customers.
  • Product Knowledge: develop a deep understanding of our products; provide accurate and detailed information about product features, benefits, and pricing to customers; have an eye for design and be able to walk clients through choices based on color palettes, themes, vision boards, etc; show creativity in displays in the showroom and in proposals; understand the brand and hold everything to brand standards of style.
  • Showroom Maintenance: ensure the showroom is well-maintained, organized, and visually appealing; monitor and replenish inventory on the showroom as needed; track supplies for successful meetings (including client food & beverage offerings, making sure all areas a client will see and interact with are held to a high standard).
  • General: provide clear and concise communication to the team, including a summary of the current issue, actions taken, and recommended next steps. Assist team members in completing their tasks after finishing yours.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years in customer service roles
  • Familiarity with the Austin events industry and a genuine interest in it
  • Proficient use of the Google Suite
  • Prior experience in inside sales (preferably)

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to safely lift items weighing up to 50 lbs and perform tasks involving moderate physical effort.
  • Proficiency in typing and operating essential equipment.
  • Tolerance for exposure to different environmental conditions, including noise levels, temperature variations, and indoor/outdoor settings.
  • Ability to traverse different terrains, conduct event inspections, ascend stairs and ramps, and occasionally perform tasks such as stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling to support event production requirements.
