The School sponsors over 300 recitals, concerts, operas, masterclasses, and lectures each academic year. Degrees offered include the Ph.D. (with concentrations in composition, experimental music and digital media, music education, musicology, and music theory), DMA (concentrations in music performance, collaborative piano, and choral, orchestral, and wind conducting,), MM, BM, BME, and BA (Liberal Arts). LSU also has an innovative and collaborative media arts community; The Center for Computation & Technology (CCT) includes Experimental Music & Digital Media, Digital Media Arts & Engineering, and Digital Arts, offering opportunities to compose for video games, digital animations, and film.
LSU has an enrollment of over 33,000 students. Baton Rouge supports a thriving performing arts scene, including the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, several dance companies, various eclectic concert series, and a professional theatre company.

- Oversee recruiting and engagement; participate in other service

- This position requires a flexible schedule, some travel, and physical ability to lead practices/rehearsals/events while standing/walking for long periods of time
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Doctorate in conducting or equivalent professional experience
- A distinguished record as an active conductor; demonstrated excellence in teaching a broad range of students with diverse skill sets; and commitment to contributing broadly to the culture of a major School of Music.
