JOB SUMMARY:
New England Conservatory of Music seeks an Assistant or Associate Director of Admission who will act as the Slate CRM lead. This crucial role involves managing the technical aspects of our CRM system, handling a caseload of applications, and providing expert advice to prospective students and their families. We seek someone who can seamlessly blend technological skills with compassionate, personalized guidance to shape a positive and efficient admission experience. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact both our data-driven processes and the individual journeys of our applicants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Spearhead the management of the Slate system, optimizing its use for enhanced student engagement, data analysis, and strategic admissions processes, including reporting, events, and applicant portal, ensuring data quality and process efficiency.
Partner with IT for CRM integration and enhancements
Represent NEC to prospective students, parents, teachers, and guidance counselors.
Schedule and travel to college recruitment fairs, high schools, and summer festivals.
Oversee candidate files for select majors. Work with the applicant pool throughout the application cycle from material submission to decision to enrollment.
Using discretion and independent judgment, counsel students and parents regarding the financial aid application process, loan repayment, student employment, and financial aid eligibility.
Create and maintain audition schedules and communicate audition and application details to applicants and faculty for caseload.
Coordinate prescreening recording review with faculty. Exercise independent judgment and recommend a resulting second-round applicant pool.
Provide leadership on audition days for student audition ambassadors.
Serve as primary point of contact for assigned department faculty at audition for caseload areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred
1-2 years of related experience with Slate Technolutions, CRM systems
1-2 years in higher education, particularly in recruitment, admission, or enrollment management
Familiarity with student information systems like Jenzebar
Professional demeanor, outgoing personality, and public service-oriented attitude.
Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work autonomously and in a team
Effective prioritization skills
Commitment to continuous professional growth and development
Driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
