Job description

The University of Iowa, Department of Athletics seeks a self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the knowledge, ability, and interpersonal skills required to serve as Assistant Director for Student Development. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $48,000 to $55,000 with education and experience and includes full University benefits.The Assistant Director for Student Development will oversee activities related to the Iowa Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, including application and selection processes, meetings, subcommittees, communication with coaches and staff regarding ISAAC goals, etc.; Collaborate with and maintain relationships with campus partners including University Student Government, University Student Organizations, Leadership, Service and Civic Engagement Office, etc.; This position retains an athletic academic coordinator responsibility for several teams.The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 215 regular employees and 300 temporary employees.

Go to "Working at Iowa" to learn more.Required qualifications:* Bachelor's degree required in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Student Support Services, Academic Advising, or other related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience;* One to three years of full-time work experience in athletics student services or campus Student Life capacity;* Excellent oral and written communication skills;* Ability to work constructively and collaboratively in a diverse environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships;* Experience working with the community and collegiate campus organizations;* Experience organizing and facilitating large-scale outreach programs;Desired qualifications:* Three to five years of work experience in athletics student services or campus Student Life capacity;* Master's degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs, Counseling, Psychology, Sports & Recreation Management, or other relevant programs;* Experience working with sexual assault and violence prevention, bystander awareness, and mental health and well-being programs and committees;* Student-athlete advising experience;* Experience working with community engagement and volunteer tracking systems, such as HelperHelper, SWIPE technology, Team Works, etc.;* Knowledge of Big Ten Conference and NCAA Student-Athlete Development programs;Application Process: Visit our website at http://jobs.uiowa.edu and search for keywords "Student Development".
