Assistant Director for Clinical and Regulatory Affairs
The University of Pittsburgh's Human Engineering Research Laboratories in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks an Assistant Director for Clinical and Regulatory Affairs. This position provides oversight to a team of research coordinators ensuring compliance with the University and VAPHS Institutional Review Boards (IRB) policies and procedures. Will also: (i) oversee IRB submissions, renewals, audits, data management, and study conduct; (ii) coordinate multiple clinical research studies and maintenance of a research registry related to wheelchairs and assistive technology; and (iii) review grant submissions to ensure that appropriate funds are budgeted based on scope of work proposed; (iv) ensure study feasibility for preparation of scientific proposal; and (v) develop data safety and management plans to ensure the safety of study participants.
This is an in-person office-based position.
Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Bioengineering, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.
Experience must include three (3) years with Institutional Review Board and data management/security procedures in a research setting.
Must be eligible for WOC employment through the VAPHS.
Must also have any experience with or knowledge of: (i) Redcap/Qualtrics and MS Office Professional programs, including Word, Excel, Project, Access and Power Point; (ii) database management systems to provide regulatory oversight of research studies; (iii) Good Clinical Practices; (iv) research design and methodology; (v) Project management; (vi) human subject research regulations (vii) best practices in research participation specific to individuals with mobility impairments; (viii) assistive technologies and engineering principles; and (ix) research data collection standards
Experience can be concurrent.
