Form of workMorrison Denim is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Part-Time Assistant Designer/Technical Designer to join our team. As a brand deeply rooted in the rich history and culture of denim, we are dedicated to crafting high-quality, innovative denim pieces that embody the American spirit. The ideal candidate will assist our design director in ensuring impeccable fit, quality, and administrative management within our design department.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design/product development team to execute garment measuring and input specifications into tech packs.
- Attend fittings, meticulously documenting fit notes to ensure precise garment construction.
- Create detailed construction sketches to accurately represent design concepts.
- Effectively communicate with vendors and factories regarding packages and specifications.
- Publish comprehensive fit lists to streamline production processes.
- Coordinate and schedule fittings with model agencies and internal teams as needed.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support various team projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of garment construction across woven, knits, sweaters, and denim product categories.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in apparel design or apparel technical design within the fashion industry.
- Proficiency in communication, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer skills including Illustrator, Word, and Excel are essential.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a keen sense of urgency.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines.
