JOB PURPOSE-

As an Assistant Graphic Designer / Print Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the creation of visually compelling printed marketing materials with a specific focus on apparel presentation. Working closely with Senior Graphic Designers and the Design Director, you will contribute to the development of brand books, hang tags, catalogs, and other print assets. Your expertise in typography, photography, layout, and color theory will be crucial to assisting in the creation of cohesive graphic stories for each apparel delivery and category.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

• Expert Adobe InDesign Proficiency:
  • Utilize Adobe InDesign for expert catalog layout and design.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in typography using Adobe Fonts.
• Creative Design Contributions:
  • Edit digital photography with precision and correction techniques.
  • Capture and edit digital videos related to apparel presentation.
  • Conceptualize, draw, and illustrate graphics, maintaining a refined eye for detail.
  • Collaborate on placement art, including graphics, embroideries, and embellishments.
  • Prepare artwork for production, ensuring accurate scaling, color callouts, and vendor communication.
  • Edit purchased art, adjusting patterns, colorways, and indexing in Photoshop.
  • Use Photoshop and Illustrator to create and set up artwork.
• Effective Collaboration and Communication:
  • Manage stakeholder requests, establish priorities and deadlines, and respond promptly.
  • Organize and maintain libraries of creative assets.
  • Collaborate closely with Apparel Designers, Marketing, and Packaging teams.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES-

• Stay updated on graphic trends through research and market shopping.

REQUIREMENTS-

• 3-5 years of applied experience working as a Graphic Designer within an apparel or print company preferred.
• Knowledge of print production a plus.
• Knowledge of Digital Photography and how to import/manipulate digital media.
• Design skills including drawing/sketching, painting, typography, color theory, texture and visual presentation.
• Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.
• Strong communication skills including the ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.
• Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
• Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
• Advanced Adobe Programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign etc.) skills required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer programs.
• Experience with MAC.
• Basic knowledge of Flex PLM.  Loading graphic matrix to web-based database.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

• Formal Training (certified) and/or educational background in Graphic Arts required. AA or BA in Graphic Arts / Fine Arts / Illustration preferred.

Pay range for this position is $33-$36/hr
