EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Academic doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) from a regionally accredited university
• Actively participating as as an educator in an academic, clinic, or hospital setting
• Two years of experience in teaching in nursing associate, undergraduate and/or graduate programs
• Two years Instructional design experience
• Two years’ experience in developing nursing associate, undergraduate and/or graduate programs
• Two years Online education or instructional technology experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Previous academic administrative experience in associate, undergraduate and/or graduate level programming

The Assistant Dean – ASN has the responsibility for the overall coordination of the ASN program including the education and supervision of students in the online and campus-based classroom and clinical practice settings. Responsibilities will also include design, coordination and evaluation of curriculum,. Under the direction of the Dean, the Assistant Dean will actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Manages the assigned associate degree program including the selection process for students, faculty and adjuncts, overseeing accreditation and other quality review activities. Representation of the programs at the departmental and institutional level, providing mentorship and leadership to students and faculty. Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in courses, participates in student advising and mentoring, and engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research. Reviews and assists with revisions for program policies and procedures. Identifies and recommends appropriate community agency learning sites for clinical learning experiences.
