Job Summary and Qualifications

The Assistant Controller is responsible for performing many of the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department. This includes but is not limited to the following: Directing month-end closing activities; Preparing and reviewing month-end account reconciliation’s; Responsible for audits of the accounting department; Oversees members of the accounting staff; Performing special projects as directed by the CFO, VP of Finance and Controller. The Assistant Controller must also support the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

What you will do in this position:  

  • You will be responsible for performing many of the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department. 
  • You will direct and perform month-end closing activities.
  • You will prepare and review month-end account reconciliations.
  • You will be responsible for audits of the accounting department.
  • You will oversee members of the accounting staff. 
  • You will perform special projects as directed by the CFO, VP of Finance and Controller.

 What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA or CPA certification preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in healthcare accounting preferred
  • Previous experience in a senior level accounting position preferred
  • Medicare and third party payer knowledge preferred
  • Occasional Weekend work may be required
