As Assistant Controller, your main areas of responsibility include planning, organizing and executing all phases of the day-to-day accounting function. This includes the supervision of Accounting personnel ensuring the quality and efficiency of all work produced.
The Assistant Controller should be able to comfortably make high level Accounting decisions on behalf of the team while also being able to break down, explain and teach basic Accounting principles to any member of the Accounting team.
Suitability for Position
The ideal person for this role would be someone who has a broad, professional understanding of accounting principles ranging from basic fundamentals to troubleshooting and solving complex financial problems. The Assistant Controller should also be able to engage and lead a time of Accounting Clerks in varying professional roles and abilities to maximize team cohesion.
We are looking for an individual who is able to take ownership of the day to day accounting functions as a leader as well as a main support to the Controller. The ability to assist and work on complex financial projects such as month end procedures and annual budgets is required as this role is a key contributor to the long term financial workings of the company.
