The Assistant Controller role (with focus on AP Management) plays a key role in Rike Roofing Services Team. Overall responsibilities include mentoring and training AP staff, managing the end to end procure to pay processes in Foundation, to include tax reporting, data retention, intercompany reconciliation, period close and audit processes. The Supervisor should also stay abreast of IRS requirements, new programs and technologies to enhance the end to end procure to pay processes and systems. This position is offered IN OFFICE only.

Essential Responsibilities
#1 project – research and implementation of AP automation system (we are currently working to improve our AP automation but this needs more work)
Set up and maintenance of new vendors/suppliers in Foundation following Corporate and IRS guidelines relating to W9, 1099s and related documents
EDI and EFT on-boarding processes
Maintenance of payment schedules
Update system with employee data changes, including but not limited to supervisor updates and approval levels
Proactively run and review AP reports weekly to ensure old items are being investigated and cleaned up
Learn program inside and out and assist with Foundation training of new employees
Creation and updates of AP Training documentation
Process weekly payment runs for checks and ACHs
e-Payables Administrator -- responsible for new card setup and updates
Month End bank statement reconciliation and transaction cleanup
Month end close process for the AP subledger
Month end NC Sales & Use Tax Reporting
Supervise and mentor AP team to include yearly performance documentation
Testing Foundation upgrades, patches, and new functionality to procure to pay processes
Other Duties and Projects as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
Five + years of high-volume Accounts Payable experience
Three + years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Detailed understanding AP processes and internal controls, including sub ledger and general ledger account reconciliation
Automated AP experience required and Foundation experience a plus
EDI/EFT experience required
Strong Excel with pivot/v-lookup knowledge, Word, and Power Point
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to research, analyze, reconcile financial data.
Organized, detail oriented and able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; including the ability to remain flexible when encountering tight time schedules
Responsible, dependable, and able to work in a team environment IN OFFICE
Willing to work nontraditional hours when required (+weekly 45-50 hours)
