About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman
Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. Job DescriptionAECOM Tishman has current has current opportunities for Assistant Superintendent(s) with Heavy Civil Construction experience for our project in Salem, NJ at the New Jersey Wind Port.
Job Description:
- Assists the project Superintendent and Project Manager by performing a variety of tasks in support of construction activities.
- Duties may differ depending on the specialty area.
- Must hold all applicable licenses and/or certificates as required by governmental, regional or project contractual requirements
- Responsible for and ensures project safety compliance.
- Must be knowledgeable of applicable safety riders for area of responsibility.
- Activities may include inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications and quality standards, maintaining project documentation, interfacing with other administrative field staff
- Relies on complete knowledge of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish goals.
- At this level, incumbents normally handle a wide range of relatively complex protocols; viewed as fully competent within limits of experience.
- Works under general supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience in the heavy civil engineering industry or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferredrequirements:
- Experience in port or marine construction strongly preferred.
- Experience in field operations and coordination of crews and subcontractors in various building trades.
- OSHA 10
- Strong understanding of daily dirt work construction and equipment.
- Heavy civil construction experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Autodesk and other Construction Management Software is preferred.
