ASSISTANT COMMUNITY MANAGER

When you join our Leasing and Resident Experience team as an Assistant Community Manager, you are joining a passionate team dedicated to nurturing belonging in our apartment communities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trust Builder and Ambassador of Exceptional Resident Experiences, Operational Management and Financial Performance

  • Elevate the customer service experience for existing and prospective residents in accordance with our service standards.
  • Step in and step up in the absence of the Community Manager.
  • Provide sales, customer service, administrative leadership and support to the team and overall operation.
  • Think like an owner in contributing to the achievement of financial objectives by leading the rent collection efforts, ensuring timely bill processing and payment, operational forecasting, annual budget prep, scheduling expenditures, variance analysis, and initiating corrective action.
  • Navigate and resolve resident issues with clear and courteous communication and coach others in doing the same.
  • Contribute to the ideation and implementation of advertisement materials and community marketing campaigns.
  • Create and disseminate timely, clear, and compassionate communications to prospects, residents, vendors, and internal groups/team members.
  • Contribute to elevating and maintaining an exceptional online reputation and compliance with state and local legal requirements.

Team leadership and development

  • Be a positive role model and champion of company mission, vision, values, and operational standards of excellence.
  • Support, motivate, and contribute to developing a diverse, high-performing team.
  • Take ownership of talent attraction and retention efforts by delivering exceptional candidate and employee experiences.
  • Generously guide team members in their professional and leadership development efforts by coaching and mentoring and by promoting participation on the job and company facilitated learning programs.
  • Ensure that policies, procedures, safety, and compliance expectations are clearly communicated and consistently met.

Leasing Responsibilities

  • Ensure the leasing team elevates the customer service experience for existing and prospective residents in accordance with our service standards.
  • Empower the leasing team to discover, engage, and advance each prospect at every stage in the customer journey with the goal of generating new leases and/or renewing existing leases.
  • Step in and step up to assist with and/or complete any part of leasing process as needed.
  • Contribute to resident satisfaction and retention efforts with smiles, empathy, empowered execution, and a commitment to achieving team goals.
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in dealing with residents, prospects, employees, and outside contacts.
  • Diligently monitor how the leasing team leverages phone, email, and online chat to effectively manage sales leads and convert inquiries into community tours.
  • Be a community leader and neighborhood expert and proudly communicate the benefits and differentiators of leasing at your community to the direct reports and the Community Manager and customers.
  • Champion Company values and operations standards.
  • Demonstrate learning agility by owning a path to professional development and advancement.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 years property management experience that includes at least 1 year of leasing experience required.

  • Proven track record of career progression in the property management industry with a strong desire to grow as an operational and people leader.
  • Demonstrated exceptional aptitude to influence up, down and across functional areas without creating siloes.
  • Excellent communication and marketing skills - written, verbal, social media.
  • Strong financial aptitude and budget management skills.
  • Digitally proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, social media.
  • Experience with CRM systems and/or industry specific management software, such as Yardi required.
  • Demonstrated resilience and commitment to deliver and be accountable for results.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field
