Job Description
Our client, a leading utility company, is seeking an experienced Asset Management Project Manager to join their team. As a key member of the Information Technology department, the Project Manager/Subject Matter Expert will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and implementing multifaceted technology solutions and programs to address business challenges. This position requires a candidate with a strong background in IT project management, Asset Management, and technology integration within the utility industry.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Plan, evaluate, design, develop, and implement technology solutions and programs to address business problems. Act as the principal evangelist and liaison with internal IT customers.
- Implementation Planning: Develop and execute implementation plans, with a focus on specific objectives including IT Asset Management Program, RFID technology, Project Planning, and Collaboration solutions.
- Project Tracking: Deploy and manage project tracking solutions, such as Smartsheet, to monitor over 200 projects and initiatives from procurement to implementation and adoption.
- Automation: Utilize automation tools, develop APIs, and leverage Microsoft Flow to automate project tracking components and streamline processes.
- Technical Guidance: Provide day-to-day technical guidance to the area of expertise, including project planning and management support. Offer coaching to functional areas within the organization.
- Research and Analysis: Support short-term, issues-focused research. Provide analysis, findings, and recommendations to address challenges and improve processes.
- Business-Centric Solutions: Support the CIO in planning and deploying business-centric solutions. Contribute to visioning and conceptual development of integrated programs, including strategic planning and management studies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in IT Operations or System development/integration, with 5-7 years of hands-on IT project management experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on expertise in utilities, with broad subject-matter expertise in utility functional domains.
- Technology Proficiency: Hands-on experience in implementing Project Management, workflow, Collaboration, Asset Management, and RFID solutions in the utility industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
