On a production basis, performs light electronic and/or electromechanical assembly work of moderate complexity. Relatively simple assembly procedures are involved, requiring primarily manual dexterity. Assembly procedures may involve working with parts or components that require special care in handling or other procedures that require good dexterity and facility in use of a variety of hand tools. Work is sometimes highly repetitive, and the cycle of repetition may be short enough to allow the development of some habit patterns. Assembly Technician II must be able to work from wiring diagrams, detail blueprints or other input document of similar complexity. Assembly Technician II may make minor procedural decisions in wiring, fitting keys and shafts, but always with established guidelines. Generally assembles a wide variety of complex and non-standard units, subassemblies and final assemblies having many parts and details, where difficult adjustments may be required to fit, align and ensure free action of movable parts. Works from drawings and verbal instructions to select, set up and use equipment, testing devices, gauges, templates, assembly jigs and fixtures to create desired assembly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assembly of all new equipment orders
• Wiring associated with all externally mounted components and devices of new equipment, per electrical schematics
• Able to successfully work independently and without supervision of management
• Placement and mounting of all external components on all new equipment per signed floor plans
• Break down, shipment, and packing of all new equipment being shipped to customers after the FAT
• Reporting on all defective or malfunctioning parts from outside vendors and engineering
• Keeping a clean and orderly work environment
• Understands and adheres to OSHA safety compliance regulations
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
• Basic skill level on Microsoft Excel and Word
• Basic ability to read mechanical and electrical CAD drawings and identify related physical parts
• Two or more years of experience in identifying mechanical and electrical industrial machine parts
• Basic ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair equipment
• Ability in using tools (ie. Sockets, wrenches) and machine shop equipment (mill, lathe, band saw, do all saw, and drill press)
• Good communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to work in a team environment
This position is for the Shrink Sleeve Equipment Division. We provide custom engineered solutions for shrink sleeve labeling, tamper evident packaging and multi-packs. Our customers are typically in Food, Beverage (ex. Craft Beer, Wine and Spirits), Health/Beauty Care and Automotive industries.
