SalaryGlobal Welding Services is an ASME fabrication shop that manufacturers things such as pressure vessels, skids, steel structure, and indirect heaters. Located in Houston, TX, we are looking for an experienced and motivated QC to grow with our company and help us achieve our goals. Your responsibilities will be, but not limited to.
- Ability to read and interpret x-ray film
- Read and interpret vessel drawings for dimensional, visual, and NDE inspections
- Read, interpret, and comply with client specifications
- Inspect ongoing and completed equipment for ASME and client supplied specification compliance
- Review material traceability reports for ASME and client supplied specification compliance
- Interface with client inspectors and Authorized Inspector in a professional manor
- Quality lead for triennial National Board/ASME Joint Reviews
- Coordinate NDE functions for contracted services
- Manage the creation and maintenance of required in process quality documents, including receiving inspection reports, continuity logs, project travelers, and ITPs
- Creation of ASME U1A, R1, R2, and repair/alteration plan documents for official submittal
- Establish, maintain, and administer the ASME code compliant weld qualification program
- Interface between engineering and production on drawing and specification issues
Preferred Experience:
- Working knowledge of fabrication and weld inspection process
- Working/current knowledge of ASME code, particularly in fabrication of boilers, pressure piping, and pressure vessels.
- Weld symbol knowledge and interpretation
