The Area Manager, Admissions and Guest Services is responsible for managing the operation of the admissions department, while ensuring efficient and effective department operations. Additionally, this individual will supervise subordinate supervisory staff as assigned, as well as perform related administrative and professional work as required.
Salary Details: $66,300/yr. - $88,400/yr., based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Performs related duties as required.
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other park administrators and staff, subordinates, corporate personnel, vendors, professional peers, customers, etc.
- Prepares and/or processes various records and reports including performance appraisals, purchase orders, over/short reports, till summaries, memos correspondence, etc.
- Receives and/or reviews various records and reports including daily operations reports, cash control summaries, daily toll summaries, parking reports, general activity reports, labor reports, payroll reports, financial statements. etc.
- Performs general administrative/office work as required, including but not limited to conducting and attending various meetings, entering computer data, preparing reports and correspondence copying and filing documents, etc.
- Schedules and coordinates operational functions for special events.
- Identifies and resolves problems that arise during daily operations.
- Develops and manages department budgets; monitors expenditures.
- Establishes and implements policies and procedures, and long‑range plans, for areas of responsibility.
- Provides for the adequate training and professional development of subordinate staff members.
- Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers advice and assistance as needed.
- Supervises duties of assigned supervisory staff. Supervisory duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new employees; acting on employee problems; recommending and approving employee discipline, promotions, transfers, and discharge.
- Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
