Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the assembly of information using computer-aided drafting and design (CADD), Revit, SketchUp, and other graphic software or conventional drafting methods, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, and other data, to produce designs, working drawings, schedules, details, and notes
- Coordinate with project team to integrate project information and documentation into project documents
- Assist with project graphics and plan layout; aid in the preparation of project specific information such as design, structure, specifications, materials and color applications
- Support project team with the organization, assembly, and coordination of individual drawings into a cohesive set of design documents as directed
- Revise and modify existing documents (red lines/mark-ups) as directed
- Research, observe, and otherwise obtain/learn information relevant to the practice of architecture (i.e., codes, building designs, construction, etc.)
- Assist with other duties as directed (i.e., site visits, as-builts, code research, etc.)
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- In the process of obtaining Architecture/Design-related degree
- Working knowledge in operating CADD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Strong listening, oral/verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of practical application of architecture and technology principles relevant to the design and construction of the built environment
- Basic knowledge of industry standards, tools, and graphic conventions
- Basic knowledge of laws, codes, and government regulations
- Awareness of industry design/planning trends
