DLR Group's Architecture team has an opening for an Architectural Designer. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.
Locations: Cleveland or Columbus, Ohio
Position Summary
As an Architectural Designer at DLR Group, you will be responsible for developing designs from conception through design development, preparing construction documents, specifications, and team coordination, and supporting the project team through construction administration for a variety of project types and sizes. As part of our integrated design teams, you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.
The successful candidate will:
Provide technical design in the conceptual development of project documents.
Produce accurate documents aligned with firm standards for project assignments.
Communicate to Project Manager progress of assignments according to the established project schedule and workplan.
Ensure project information is incorporated into project documents.
Be able to work and present ideas in a team environment as well as self-manage and self-motivate in a creative environment.
Participate in construction administration, including review of shop drawings and submittals, field bulletins, site visits and quality control.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from an accredited program
1-5 years of professional experience documenting and designing small to large scale projects
A basic understanding of technical knowledge in architectural drafting and design
Proficiency with computer modeling and rendering software such as Revit
Intermediate and demonstrated ability in the use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Preferred Qualifications:
Actively pursuing Architectural Registration
Demonstrated ability in the use of Lumion, Enscape, and other rendering software
Knowledge of QA/QC process and building codes
An interest in sustainable building design.
