Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work as a member of the engineering team that functions as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), designing and building new systems and equipment for use in customer sites around the world. Reporting to the Director you will serve as the technical owner on a project basis responsible for equipment design and quality. This is a remote working position with travel to the home office and project sites on a recurring basis.
Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the execution of equipment design either individually or by leading a combination of engineering team members.
• Provides technical guidance and leadership, developing team members through mentorship while improving processes and standards.
• Takes personal responsibility, understanding impact of design and associated risk, while considering customer needs.
• Reviews design development for conformance with all applicable codes, utilizing engineering standards along with good engineering practices.
• Preparing and presenting design reviews and technical reports to internal and external customers.
• Collaborates daily with cross functional project team members.
• Responsible for representative components evaluation and selection (power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics etc.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
• 10+ years' experience in mechanical equipment design
• Experience in 2D CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical) & 3D modeling (SolidWorks) required
• Experienced in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Strong technical background in mechanical engineering design principles
• Requires ability to travel approximately 30% of time outside base office location
• Experience understanding and working within PLC programs primarily utilizing Rockwell and Siemens Software.
