Job description

Summary:

To provide assistance for all facets of the accounts receivable and billing function; to research and resolve issues in a courteous and professional manner; and to provide excellent internal and external customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train, develop and mentor Business Office Directors on the billing processes through Yardi ensuring timely and accurate revenue figures.
  • Responsible for the proper coding and posting of charge batches within the Yardi billing system.
  • Occasionally will review receipt batches, but these will be posted at the community level.
  • Review and monitor community accounts receivable aging on a weekly basis working with communities on collection efforts.
  • Responsible for the timely collection of past due accounts working with the community and outside collection agencies, on a rare occasion.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of rental rate increases for in-house residents working with Senior Management on timing and amounts as well as working with community team members for implementation.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the market rates within the Yardi billing system
  • Comply with the monthly accounting calendar requirement to close the accounts receivable module by the 1st business day of each month.
  • Prepare and distribute Billing and Receivable reports as assigned for all communities regardless of who has oversight of the billing.
  • Responsible for assisting the Corporate Controller on creating and modifying policies and procedures related to billing and collections.
  • Assists the Corporate Controller on improving processes and streamlining the billing and collections processes to become electronic.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

: High School graduate or GED required. Must have six (6) months to one (1) year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer and light bookkeeping skills preferred.

No certifications or licenses required.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer with extensive keyboard typing, and routinely uses other office machinery such as a telephone and printer/copier/scanner. Occasionally moves around inside the office to access files or office machinery, attend meetings, etc. Occasionally required to bend or twist to reach items and lift and/or carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. The person in this role frequently communicates with others to exchange information in person, over the phone, and via email, and must be capable of effective communication in these situations.

Work Environment

This position is situated in a climate-controlled office environment, with a moderate noise level consisting of typical office sounds. Sounds include but are not limited to computers, printers, telephones, light foot traffic, and background conversation.

This position does not typically require travel.
