APS-3: Maintenance Shop Supervisor

KBR's areas of expertise include engineering, logistics, operations, science, program management, mission IT and cybersecurity.
KBR executes a contract for the US Army to provide Maintenance and Logistics services for the Army's Prepositioned Warstock set #3 (APS-03) at the Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston, located on the Charleston Naval Weapons Station. The Maintenance Department consists of 180-210 employees in nine Maintenance Shops across 12 facilities and provides Field Level Maintenance on the full spectrum combat and tactical equipment assigned to the program.
The Maintenance Shop Supervisor is one of nine Maintenance Shop Supervisors with a direct reporting relationship to the Maintenance Department Manager.
The Maintenance Shop Supervisor will:
  • Supervise 8-40 employees in the performance of automotive maintenance on military vehicles, associated platforms, and trailers.
  • Work in both an office setting, in a Maintenance Shop environment, and out of doors environment, with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
  • Make use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Develop weekly goals and objectives to meet department production schedules while also meeting acceptable quality level standards.
  • Enforce Health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment is provided for our employees, and OSHA requirements are met.
  • Provide input into Basis of Estimate (BOE).
  • Care and account for all assigned government furnished vehicles, tools, and facilities.
  • Enforce department and program policies and procedures.
  • Recommend personnel actions.
  • When necessary, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots as well as Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) which may include but not limited to Level III plus/IV Individual Body Armor with both front and back ballistic plates, ACH helmet, clothing (undergarments, shirts and pants and/or coveralls), reflective vests/belts, sound suppression devices, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

In this role, you may be required to deploy overseas to support APS-03 program.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC) requirements.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, or formal education in automotive maintenance, plus 5 years supervisory experience.
    • A combination of some college plus military training in a maintenance MOS plus 8 years' experience in progressive leadership positions may be considered in lieu of formal education. 3 or more years of relevant supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Requires 10 years of progressive experience in automotive maintenance.
  • Requires strong leadership skills.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Requires strong planning and analytical skills.
  • Must be computer literate including advanced use of MS Office.
  • Must possess a valid State Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with AWRDS.
  • Quality control / quality assurance training or quality management experience.
  • Military experience in maintenance management / supervision.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day.
  • Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day.
  • Must be able to Lift - up to 35 lbs. - 50 lbs. periodically.
  • Must be able to squat, knell, bend, reach and climb periodically.
  • Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.
