Position Overview
The Applications Analyst works in a hands-on role to implement and support business applications used by the company. The analyst is adept at investigating issues, solving problems, identifying needs, and implementing solutions. The Applications Analyst will participate in application lifecycle management, working with software vendors to perform application upgrades, new feature implementation, as well as researching new solutions. The analyst is a well-rounded IT professional that has working knowledge of business processes, application functions, database structures, program logic, and end-user technologies.
Responsibilities
- Understand the architecture, function, and relationships of company applications and systems to the company business model
- Identify opportunities to improve or advance use of business application capabilities
- Work with departments and management to develop solutions and correct inefficiencies
- Perform application maintenance and support activities including resolving technical application issues
- Respond to and resolve end user support issues regarding enterprise applications
- Identify opportunities to improve application infrastructure
- Participate in application implementation projects in various roles from plan development to deployment
- Leverage external vendor and consultant expertise effectively
- Gather requirements and develop specifications for new requests
- Develop comprehensive solution and support documentation
- Use the service desk system and change management processes to document and track work activities, and respond to day-to-day support issues
- Support needs outside primary job role based on available skills and company needs
