Critical Job Segments:

1. Responsibility for assisting Fire Protection Application Engineers in performing their duties. This includes providing technical information and guidance, delegation of projects/assignments, setting priorities, enforcing company and departmental policies, and measuring goal achievement.
2. Provide performance appraisals as a personal development tool to provide goals, direction and guidance for department members.
3. Direct and maintain focus of Fire ProtectionApplication Engineering team on pro-active support of new business opportunities and on responding to our customer's needs.
4. Develop Fire Protection Application Engineers by coordinating support from Corporate's development, product management, marketing, quality and other teams as necessary.
5. Provide product and system level training and provide business strategy as necessary for new product releases which may affect the customers and sales team in their region.
6. Train Fire Protection Application Engineers by mentoring them and guiding them through solving local product application and performance challenges.
7. Provide direction to all Victaulic Application Engineers. Use creative methods to solve customer problems.
8. Organize Global Application Engineering team focused on the Fire Protection market to discuss project and market and organize support.
9. Serve as a consultant to customers and sales representatives regarding Victaulic product features, benefits and applications. When necessary, make joint calls with sales personnel to customer's facilities to address technical inquiries and seminars.
10. Lead departmental staff/QWG meetings to integrate the QIP principles into the Applications Engineering Culture and encourage continuous improvement.
11. Specific policies and procedures have been established by the Engineering Department to provide for the security and accessibility of electronic data and confidential information. It is the responsibility of the employee, in the daily course of doing business, to follow said policies as they relate to document management (see EOG-26). The extent to which departmental research and development information is stored electronically has vastly increased, and will continue to do so. The new Federal rules pertaining to electronic discovery stipulate that substantive email communications constituted "records" under the Federal Records Act. It is therefore the responsibility of each departmental employee to understand their role in communicating via e-mails and that all e-mails must be written/responded to in a professional manner, as outlined in EOG-26.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
2. Understanding and utilizing leadership principles to motivate and develop the team to operate as a cohesive department. Lead by example
3. Excellent communication skills and professional appearance.
4. The ability to organize and manage day to day events and to plan for future challenges. Ability to establish priorities and make decisions.
5. Ability to maintain desired employee performance and relations.
6. Willingness to travel domestically & internationally. Approximately 25-30%
7. High level of initiative. Self-starter, proactive, works quickly and accurately. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within and across the company.
8. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels inside and outside the organization.
