Job Description
- Support in the development of new applications and update existing applications in collaboration with Product Managers.
- Update standard libraries for application and project development.
- Have input into Design Review technical meetings.
- Prepare project specifications for the control system applications.
- Prepare and participate in internal testing and customer witnessed acceptance tests.
- Establish and maintain quality performance, cost, functionality and configuration options for the applications in the portfolio.
- Provide global product support during tender, project execution and field operation of relevant product portfolio.
- Interface with Product Owner and Delivery Managers for scheduling and resource management.
- Provide feedback to software programs that improve application and project development cycles.
- Provide follow up to supplier with special attention to product price, quality and development.
- Provide input to continuous improvement of development and product management processes.
- Provide application training material and conduct project specific courses.
- Review relevant products and systems for obsolescence and ensure OM risk is assessed during development and other phases of product lifecycle.
- Supports and drives HSE and quality performance results.
- Develop and maintain standard products with sufficient flexibility to cover varying customer requirements, focusing on re-use of standard products and components with associated standard documentation. Describe the products' possibilities for configuration i.e. product variants and options.
- Ensure product quality by evaluation of relevant product and application related QNs and SNs.
- Establish and maintain complete product documentation (function-, and design specifications, drawings, master documents for the product etc.), delivery - independent user documentation, product data sheets with associated cost.
- Coordinate execution of tasks as required by the application product squad customers and in accordance with management group objectives and priorities.
- Liaison with Lead Engineers in internal and external contacts for technical meetings and negotiations.
- Strive for implementation of tools and methods for optimal lean work processes.
- Coordinate Application Development under SAFe Agile environment.
- Ensure that all products are qualified and documented. This also includes evaluations of need for re-qualification after changes / adjustments of the products.
You are meant for this job if:
- BSc with minimum 5-8 years' experience or MSc.
- Must have a minimum 3-5 years' experience in project engineering, preferably in process control.
- Working knowledge of the energy industry.
- Working knowledge of collaboration tools like Jira, GitHub, and Confluence.
- Working knowledge concerning the available types of, and the application of control system instrumentation.
- Working knowledge of Engineering design/drawing standards including P&IDs, flow sheets, logic drawings, loop drawings, electrical one lines, etc.
- Experienced in relevant codes, design- and testing standards for Products to be included in a control system.
- Experience with configuration of software and hardware systems for use in control systems.
- Experience with embedded software and System development for application in control systems.
- Experience in use of tools for modelling, specification, testing and verification of complex functionality implemented in process control systems.
- Knowledge in operation of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems and the corresponding interfaces such as Modbus, MQT, and OPC.
- Experience with specification, testing and maintenance of control system products.
- Expert in solving complex product and system issues.
- Expert in establishing Product definition including testing based on customer requirements, applicable codes and standards including company requirements.
- Experienced in reviewing CAD models and drawings.
- Knowledge of current industrial communication protocols currently in the market.
- Well experienced in understanding product cost related to design and how changes influence the project cost.
- Effective Personal Communications.
Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, listen and speak for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, and lift.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Frequent use of PC. With close viewing of computer monitor.
- Standard office work environment with infrequent need to work on manufacturing floor and wear PPE as required.
- Field travel, up to 10% or more.
- Regular, repetitive arm/hand motion (typing, mouse control, etc.)
