Description
The Application Developer will build mid-level to highly sophisticated custom applications in a web application, IaaS portal environment and/or PaaS environment, following ConocoPhillips' standard methodologies. The Application Developer will also participate in the design and architecture of custom software solutions to meet business needs along with researching new technologies as they become available.
If you are selected as the Application Developer, you will work in the Application & Automation Development Team as part of Applied Digital Technologies team. Our team supports the Information Technology and is the Center of Excellence for all developers including developers in the Capability Teams. In this role, you will support and enhancement inhouse-built applications and work on projects to develop new applications' business on business need.
You may be eligible for the voluntary hybrid office work (HOW) program that is designed to provide employees with flexibility while maintaining the advantages of in-person engagement.
This position is based in Houston, TX or Bartlesville, OK.
Your responsibilities may include:

• Working with other IT organizations to ensure quality support and delivery to the end-user
• Assist with maintaining and reviewing existing application portfolio
• Being responsible for the support and maintenance of assigned applications with a high-level of quality
• Lead/Participate in operational initiatives
• Develop high quality custom .Net applications in the .Net web application environment
• Develop high quality applications in the cloud platform environment (hpaPaaS)
• Using ConocoPhillips' change management processes to prevent disruptions and outages
• Working with business analysts and solution integrators to understand business requirements in order to provide timely assessments and build technical designs
• Crafting and updating documentation for ongoing support of web applications
• Researching and recommending solutions that best meet the business needs and Enterprise operational requirements

Basic/Required:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
• 1+ years of experience working with relational databases (SQL/Oracle)
• 1+ years of experience with the following technologies:
  • Coding IDE - i.e., Visual Studio,
  • .NET
• Beginner proficiency in source control practices and patterns (Git workflow, branching/merging, etc.)
• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to provide day-to-day application support and after-hours callout on a rotational basis
• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:

• 1+ years of experience with cloud-native technologies
• 1+ years of experience in conducting code reviews
• 1+ years of experience working with virtual teams
• 1+ years of experience with low-code platforms like Mendix and PowerApps
• Intermediate proficiency with stored procedure development knowledge
• Intermediate proficiency in these technologies:
  • Web technologies such as RESTful Services, Web API, JavaScript frameworks, HTML, CSS, etc.
  • JSON and/or XML exposure
• Intermediate proficiency with creating and reading UML Diagrams
• Intermediate proficiency with providing and reviewing estimates; Agile estimation and planning strongly preferred
• Intermediate proficiency with creating and reviewing technical designs
• Beginner knowledge of single sign-on technologies
• Ability to quickly learn and analyze business processes, working closely with users, business analysts and project managers
• Ability to plan and carrying out responsibilities with minimal direction
• Ability to handle various tasks and prioritize optimally in fast-paced environment supporting internal and external customers
• Takes ownership of actions and follows through on dedications by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
• Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
• Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
